Android Engineer - Comet for Android

Job Description

Perplexity AI is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to contribute to the development of Comet for Android, Perplexity's innovative browser. The role involves working within a small team to revolutionize internet browsing experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a performant native Android app.
• Ensure high craft and quality in user and developer experience.
• Collaborate with design teams for fast and intuitive UI.
• Work with data science and machine learning teams to improve the end-to-end experience.
• Work with infrastructure and QA teams on deployment processes.

Requirements:

• 4+ years industry experience.
• Expertise in Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Strong Android fundamentals and experience with a modern Android stack built in Kotlin.
• Understands how to manage performance and speed.
• Deep experience with Gradle, JNI, Kotlinization of codebases and tooling in large codebases (Preferred).
• Experience with Chromium development for Android (Preferred).
• Comfortable working with a small, fast-moving team.
• A passion for shipping.
