QA Automation Engineer - E2

Job Description

Instawork is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to enhance software quality within a fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to the entire cross-platform development lifecycle and serves as a foundation for future development/QA roles. The engineer will build test automation, communicate quality updates, and solidify testing best practices across the organization.Role involves:

• Researching, designing, and implementing automation frameworks for tests.
• Automating functional, regression, and smoke tests using internal and open-source tools.
• Creating tooling around the entire testing workflow.
• Defining test specifications for functional, integration, and performance testing.
• Managing and configuring build servers for running automation.
• Collaborating with the development team in continuous build & deployment processes.
• Reporting test coverage and participating in troubleshooting.
• Performing manual testing for new features.
• Creating and maintaining test plans.

Requirements:

• 2-3+ years of experience with UI Automation testing tools.
• Bonus for Mobile (iOS/Android) experience using Appium and Selenium.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Programming experience in Python + Javascript or similar language.
• Thorough knowledge of automation testing tools and release processes.
• Knowledge of Relational Database such as MySQL is preferred.
• Self-motivated, especially in learning new software tools and best practices in software quality assurance.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
