Engineering Manager

Job Description

EarnIn is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of backend engineers focused on payroll services. This role is based in Mexico City, MX. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with product and other engineering teams to build new payroll features. They will also be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The Engineering Manager will work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and mentor the team. They will also act as a liaison between their team and a geographically distributed frontend team, contributing to engineering-wide initiatives at EarnIn.What this role involves:

• Working with leadership to deliver EarnIn Payroll's mission.
• Partnering with product and engineering teams to build new features.
• Recruiting and onboarding new team members.
• Fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and innovation.
• Providing hands-on leadership and conducting performance reviews.
• Assigning work, setting goals, and removing blockers.
• Ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience leading a team of 4+ engineers.
• Problem-solving skills and a drive to get things done.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment.
• Comfort working with a cross-functional team.
