Sr. Portfolio Data Engineer

Job Description

Addepar is seeking a Senior Portfolio Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team in Edinburgh. This role is crucial for ingesting data from various sources and building components within the ETL pipeline to automate cleaning and transformation steps. The successful candidate will contribute to challenging engineering projects within Addepar's data infrastructure.

The role involves:

• Writing code and designing pipeline architecture.
• Building pipelines for ingestion, analysis, and enrichment of financial data.
• Improving the existing pipeline to increase throughput and accuracy.
• Working with data analysts to map financial concepts to internal data models.
• Understanding data models and schemas, recommending extensions and changes.
• Using investigative tools to flag irreconcilable data.

Requirements:

• A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming preferred.
• General familiarity with Python, Apache Spark / PySpark, Java/Spring, Amazon Web Services, SQL, and relational databases.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Interest in data modeling, visualisation, and ETL pipelines.
• Knowledge of financial concepts is encouraged but not necessary.
