Thumbtack is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Product team. In this role, the Data Scientist will be responsible for the analytical needs of a team of engineers, designers, and product/marketing managers, empowering them to build the best product possible.Thumbtack is one app you need to take care of and improve your home. Every day in every county of the U.S., people turn to Thumbtack to complete urgent repairs, seasonal maintenance and bigger improvements.What this role involves:

• Proposing and conducting quantitative research into key user behaviors, product flows, and business trends.
• Designing and analyzing experiments and other tests for causal inference.
• Partnering with product managers and engineers to help scope new features.
• Defining and monitoring key metrics and investigating changes.
• Developing topic area expertise.
• Contributing to the team and company data culture.
• Collaborating with, mentoring, and helping recruit team members.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or economics.
• Experience managing stakeholders with competing priorities.
• Experience scoping, analyzing, and communicating results of experiments.
• Expert in SQL.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally and with leadership.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a technical area.
