Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Drive Unit Test Technician to contribute to the development of electric vehicle drive unit components. This role involves physically installing and setting up test articles on test beds, executing standard and non-standard tests, and flashing basic software versions. The technician will provide organized feedback, update test tickets, and interact with cross-functional engineering teams. They will also leverage data acquisition systems, diagnose issues, participate in root cause analysis, and maintain test cells, ensuring consistent safety and organization.Responsibilities:
  • Physically install and setup test articles on test beds.
  • Execute both standard and lower risk non-standard tests.
  • Flash basic software versions to test articles.
  • Provide organized and detailed feedback to test requestors during tests.
  • Regularly update test tickets with precise findings and notes to support the creation of test reports.
  • Regularly interact directly with engineers from various cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage basic data acquisition systems and related instrumentation.
  • Diagnose and debug basic issues at a system, modular, and component level with a precise and methodical approach- Escalate internally as needed.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and documentation of findings.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on test cells.
  • Exercise consistent safety and organization practices in the lab.
  • Drive continuous improvement for tests and test cells.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of automotive or related technician experience.
  • A keen eye for catching problems.
  • Strong organization and clean work environment habits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Moderate experience with shop tools.
  • Understanding of electrical hazards.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional documentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer software literacy.
  • Self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic experience with industrial communication interfaces (CANbus, Ethernet, Modbus).
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
