Senior CMM Programmer

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior CMM Programmer to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This role involves performing complex mechanical inspections, documenting non-conformances, and collaborating with engineering to improve work instructions. The ideal candidate will have a high level of attention to detail and strong communication skills to guide quality process improvements.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, responsible for building rockets and satellites that support vital space missions. The company's Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and Neutron, their next rocket, is set to launch mega constellations in the future.What this role involves:

• Performing complex mechanical inspections for purchased parts, 3D-printed components, CNC-machined items, electro-mechanical components, and propulsion assemblies.
• Performing all types of precision inspections, including receiving, in process and final assembly inspections.
• Thoroughly documenting non-conformances in accordance with Rocket Lab systems and procedures.
• Collaborating with engineering and management to improve work instructions.
• Coordinating with Production personnel to prioritize workload.
• Embodying a Built in Quality philosophy.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in a quality manufacturing environment.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
• Ability to operate a Zeiss CMM using (Calypso Software)
• High level of experience using hand measuring instruments.
• Experience in using measurement instruments like comparators.
