Job Description
Rocket Lab, a global leader in launch and space systems, is seeking a Mission Manager to be based out of their headquarters in Long Beach, California. The Mission Manager will work directly with customers from contract signing through payload integration to launch at either the Auckland, New Zealand or Wallops, Virginia launch site. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both commercial and government customers and frequent domestic and international travel is expected.Role involves:
- Managing multiple Rocket Lab customer missions, including technical, programmatic, and financial milestones.
- Overseeing hands-on payload integration activities.
- Assisting business development with proposal input and technical sales engineering reviews.
- Developing and verifying Launch Vehicle to Spacecraft Interface Control Documentation (ICD).
- Creating and executing assembly integration instructions.
- Maintaining constant contact with customers.
- Representing the company at public events.
- Helping lead Mission Integrators.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- 5+ years of mission management experience and/or an engineering background.
- Hardware integration or project management experience on launch vehicles or spacecraft projects.
- Ability to travel to launch pads, customer sites, and overseas.
