NewGlobe is seeking a Managing Director to provide leadership and management for its education program. The Managing Director will oversee budgets, strategic and operational delivery, and stakeholder management. They will be the primary liaison with the Ministry of Education and other relevant bodies, ensuring quality control and responsiveness of technical assistance.
The role involves intense program management and requires broad technical knowledge of financial management, supply chain, government relations, and school operations management. The ideal candidate should possess leadership skills, humility, and self-awareness.
What this role involves:
- Acting as the senior General Manager for the program, overseeing budgets, strategic and operational delivery and stakeholder management.
- Leading and managing the program team.
- Being the primary liaison with the designated Ministry of Education, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
- Ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided.
- Identifying issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
- Ensuring the technical and methodological soundness of activities.
- Collaborating with colleagues to solve problems and build a learning environment within the program team and other function heads of the organization.
- Responsible for on or under-budget delivery of all aspects of the programme.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree essential, MBA (or Master’s) would be preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in project management in developing countries.
- At least 5 years of management experience, including direct supervision of staff.
- Experience in leading operational teams and managing complex functions.
- Strong management skills and ability to build contacts within the Ministry of Education.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for democratizing the right for all children to succeed.
