Job Description

Groupon is seeking an Automation, Web Applications & AI Engineer to join their team. This role involves creating and maintaining web applications, as well as developing automation solutions to enhance quality, performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate will play a key part in integrating AI and automation into business workflows.

The role involves:

  • Leading and developing automation projects with Google Apps Script, N8N, and JavaScript.
  • Creating automation workflows using Google Apps and N8N to integrate systems through REST APIs.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code for web and automation projects.
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers to understand requirements and improve processes.
  • Building internal tools and reports using JavaScript, React/Svelte, REST API, and PostgreSQL.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing issues in applications and automation scripts.
  • Engaging in agile development practices and using Git for version control.
  • Keeping up with the latest trends in AI, web development, and automation.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and familiarity with Apps Script and N8N.
  • Proficiency in both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Proven ability in developing and implementing automation scripts.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Solid analytical skills with a track record of delivering simple and effective solutions.
  • Experience with Python, React, and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Practical experience with Git for code management and collaboration.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and testing practices.
  • Self-driven and committed to creating high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
