Job Description
The Financial Times (FT) is seeking a Web Production Editor (Graphics) to join their team. This role is crucial for creating high-quality graphics for FT's media platforms. The Web Production Editor will work within the graphics team to ensure all visual assets meet FT quality standards and brand guidelines, and are completed on schedule. This position requires incorporating emerging trends in digital graphics design, such as data visualization and interactive content.Responsibilities include:
- Designing static, animated, and interactive graphics, charts, and maps.
- Sourcing and editing images.
- Maintaining production standards.
- Staying updated on emerging trends in digital graphics design.
- Assisting the Group Leader.
Requirements include:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign and XD), Excel, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of web-based interactive tools, mapping/cartography, and Adobe Premiere is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital media and best practices for responsive design.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of how visuals can support and enhance storytelling.
- Meticulous eye for detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability to new tools, processes, and emerging trends.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to work on night shift, weekends, or holidays.
