Job Description

Ping Identity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building the next generation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions on a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This role involves working on the PingOne Cloud Platform, focusing on developing core platform features such as provisioning, secure access control, and user and group management.

The Staff Software Engineer will collaborate closely with Product, QA, and other engineering teams across the Agile development lifecycle. Ping Identity values a flexible, collaborative work environment and encourages employees to bring their authentic selves to work.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive architecture, design, and development of robust, scalable, and secure solutions using Java and Kafka.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering best practices in software engineering.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Own end-to-end system design and implementation strategies.
  • Actively contribute to the codebase and conduct code reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in system performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, DevOps, QA, and Security teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and supporting multi-tenant SaaS applications.
  • Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot preferred) and event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions in the Identity Management domain.
  • Strong experience working in Unix/Linux-based environments.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams and driving large-scale projects.
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
