Job Description

Policy Expert is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team in London. This role is crucial for empowering developers to ship confidently and quickly by creating a scalable and secure environment. The Senior Platform Engineer will be instrumental in defining and implementing infrastructure best practices within new GCP environments.Responsibilities:

• Defining and implementing best practices in infrastructure and software delivery.
• Managing and evolving CI/CD tooling using GitHub Actions.
• Building reusable Infrastructure-as-Code templates and pipelines.
• Developing automation and tooling to improve developer productivity.
• Providing expert advice and guidance to other developer teams.
• Championing cloud cost optimization and observability.
• Leveraging the latest technologies to enhance developer productivity.

Requirements:

• Hands-on GCP experience.
• Proficiency in at least one infrastructure as code language (Terraform ideal).
• Strong emphasis on automation and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Comfortable managing modern CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Proficient in Python for developing automation and tooling.
• Experience developing AWS cloud infrastructure is a bonus.
• A mindset of treating Infrastructure as Software.
• Operational experience with observability practices and tooling.
• Cost awareness and ability to manage cloud spend efficiently.
• Comfortable leading technical initiatives and mentoring others.
