Quality Assurance Engineer, Business Intelligence at NewGlobe

NewGlobe, which partners with governments to dramatically improve basic education quality, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for its Business Intelligence team in Lagos, Nigeria. This role is crucial for ensuring the robustness and scalability of NewGlobe's data aggregation processes. The QA Engineer will contribute to the transformation of the data landscape, making it ready for future innovations.

The role involves:

• Collaborating with team members and business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria for business intelligence projects.
• Creating and executing testing plans that include manual and automated testing.
• Conducting in-depth data analysis to ensure accurate and comprehensive results.
• Evangelizing a culture of automation and repeatability across business intelligence projects.
• Participating in the design, rollout, and use of monitoring tools.
• Contributing to the effective data governance of business data.
• Providing technical support to diagnose issues related to Business Intelligence.
• Carrying out regression testing when changes are made to fix defects.

NewGlobe requires:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in BI testing (ETL, reporting).
• Passion for the power of Business Intelligence to impact core business operations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, especially Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
• Functional understanding of data warehouse design and dimension modeling.
• Working knowledge of ETL processes.
• Familiarity with version control.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills.
