Job Description
Anthropic is seeking a Senior US Payroll Analyst to manage domestic payroll processing. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services to employees across the United States. This role reports to the Head of Global Payroll with a dotted line to the Head of US Accounting.Responsibilities include:
- Executing full-cycle payroll processing for all US entities
- Processing complex equity compensation
- Managing high-volume off-cycle payments
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Supporting Corporate Accounting with payroll journal entries
- Managing relationships with payroll vendors and benefits providers
- Responding to employee inquiries
- Resolving federal and state tax notices
- Leading payroll system implementations and process automation initiatives
- Preparing payroll analytics and reporting
- Supporting annual processes including W-2s and year-end reconciliations
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in US payroll operations
- Deep expertise in multi-state payroll processing and compliance
- Strong knowledge of equity compensation and taxation
- Experience with payroll processing for 1000+ employees
- Proficiency in Workday HCM and payroll modules
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
