AI Platform Engineer

Job Description

Intercom, the AI Customer Service company, is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to join their Builder Tools - AI Enablement Team in Dublin, Ireland. This role focuses on transforming Intercom's software engineering organization into an AI-first environment. The AI Platform Engineer will develop and implement AI-powered tools and automation to improve developer productivity and reduce toil.

The role involves:

• Building and evolving AI-driven automation agents for routine maintenance tasks.
• Making AI-powered tools the default in development environments.
• Optimizing codebases to be more navigable and AI-friendly.
• Driving a culture of AI adoption through feedback, learning, and best practices.
• Reducing friction and building confidence in AI adoption among engineers.

Requirements include:

• Proven experience in building, supporting, or enabling high-performing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with AI toolchains, including AI code assistants and prompt engineering.
• Strong software fundamentals in languages like JavaScript, Python, or Ruby.
• A focus on developer experience and automation.
• Excellent communication and enabling skills.
• A pragmatic approach with a bias to action.
