Job Description
Pure Storage is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products. This role is critical in ensuring timely and cost-effective material availability to support manufacturing and operational goals. The Materials Manager will lead a team and collaborate with various departments to optimize material flow and minimize inventory costs.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage material planning strategies.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels.
  • Supervise and lead the materials team.
  • Coordinate material needs with Procurement, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Sales teams.
  • Develop and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and track performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Coordinate material movement between warehouses and production lines.
  • Lead root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
  • Participate in S&OP and capacity planning processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in materials management or supply chain roles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
