Job Description

Lush is seeking an Ethical Buyer - Raw Materials for a 12-month contract. This role is crucial for talent growth through collaboration and best practice sharing within the Buying Team. The Ethical Buyer will adapt to business needs, analyze stakeholder requirements, and align personal values with Lush's business values.

Reporting to the Buying Manager, the Ethical Buyer will manage a portfolio of raw materials and packaging, develop purchasing strategies, identify cost savings, and negotiate terms. They will also research suppliers, collaborate with the team, visit suppliers, support regenerative projects, ensure quality control, train factory buyers, and manage inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of raw materials and/or packaging
  • Identify cost savings and negotiate improved terms
  • Research and approve suppliers and materials
  • Collaborate with the team and contribute to objectives
  • Visit suppliers to deepen relationships
  • Support the development of new regenerative projects
  • Ensure quality control and material compliance
  • Train and support the factory buyers
  • Manage inventory and spend within budget

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in supply chain management
  • Critical thinking skills in ethics
  • Commitment to ongoing learning
  • Love for LUSH and understanding of Lush values
  • Experience in a seasonal, high-pressure production environment
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Proven team player
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite
  • Knowledge or expertise in ERP systems: Microsoft AX
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
