Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Sales Planner to join its Advertising team in Hong Kong. This role involves collaborating with international advertising teams to develop compelling programs that achieve successful outcomes for the company's advertisers. The Sales Planner will leverage their knowledge of digital and print advertising platforms to advise advertisers and agency partners, ensuring excellent customer care. The Sales Planner will report to the Sales Planning Manager and will primarily manage the pre-sale process, ensuring quality service to advertisers from reservations and media plan creation to some post-sale activities on digital and print campaigns. The successful candidate will become knowledgeable in all aspects of the sales process and will serve as a team liaison with advertising agencies, clients, and internal groups.
- Support development of RFP process
- Coordinate the digital and print process workflow
- Communicate detailed and specific account information
- Build and revise media plans
- Update Ad Point, Salesforce and Monday.com
- Coordinate handover of digital campaigns to Ad Ops and Ad Solutions
- Attend all Product training
- Build and revise print plans
- Work with Customer Order Fulfilment (COF), Rate Cards and Finance Teams, Ad Production Departments
- Build competitive decks for various business categories
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work with the Yield team to ensure rate integrity and maximization of revenue
- Adhere to process controls and ensure all approvals are accurately secured
- Maintain proper documentation of all IOs, T&Cs and Campaign activities
- Help with campaign kick-off call organization
- Field customer complaints and work with the appropriate department to resolve them
- Respond to servicing and information requests from team members and clients
- Proven relevant experience in Digital Advertising (Print or Programmatic experience an added bonus)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Great attention to detail and organization
- Working knowledge of online proposal systems such as Lineup (AdPoint) is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office applications; sales and data management tools such as Salesforce and Monday.com are also desirable
- Motivated self-starter, quick learner, and with the ability to work efficiently when faced with time constraints

- Excellent communication skills both with external clients as well as internal stakeholders
- Innovative and creative approach to building proposals in consultative partnership with Sales
