Job Description

The New York Times is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the development of systems that transform its content archive into data products. This role involves defining the product strategy for content data products and APIs within the NYT's publishing platform. The Senior Technical Product Manager will report to the VP of Product, Publishing.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the product strategy for content data products and APIs.
  • Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to partners.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and editorial teams.
  • Lead the product development lifecycle.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers.
  • Champion data governance best practices.
  • Demonstrate support for journalistic independence.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management.
  • Familiarity with data concepts.
  • Experience launching and managing complex software products.
  • Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
