Lead Infant Teacher

Guidepost Montessori in Kendall Park, New Jersey is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher. The Lead Guide will support a mixed-age class of infant age children in a Montessori environment. The role involves preparing an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child’s interest. The guide will provide personalized support, working with children individually and in small groups, demonstrating how to use materials, and giving precise language to understand their experiences.Role involves:

• Observing each child to understand their needs
• Following the natural rhythms of sleeping, eating, and toileting
• Preparing a beautiful, orderly environment
• Cultivating independence and self-confidence
• Forming personal connections with each child
• Communicating and collaborating with parents

An ideal candidate:

• Is interested in pursuing certified Montessori training or has a Montessori diploma
• Has experience working with children ages 0-3
• Is familiar with child-led philosophies or open to learning more
• Has Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits
• Has earned a Bachelor’s Degree
