Machine Learning Engineer (Creative AI Product Lab)

Job Description

Smartly is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join its Creative AI Product Lab in Helsinki. This role involves building and experimenting with AI-based solutions for ad creatives, focusing on computer vision, generative AI, and natural language processing. The engineer will have ownership of high-impact projects, working with large-scale advertising data and contributing to Smartly's AI vision and strategy. The position requires collaboration with product, software engineers, and data scientists to meet customer needs and enhance soft skills through customer interaction and knowledge sharing.Role involves:

• Building, experimenting with, and productionizing AI models.
• Training and fine-tuning existing model architectures.
• Evaluating open/closed source solutions for model selection.
• Working with large-scale advertising data.
• Contributing to Smartly’s AI vision and strategy.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to meet customer needs.

Requirements:

• Experience building and testing production-quality AI capabilities.
• Experience designing, building, and experimenting with agentic systems.
• Experience working with MLOps workflows.
• Passion for solving customer problems quickly.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup (3 days per week in the Helsinki office).
