Job Description
Fortra is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in performing financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will assist with financial reporting, reconcile accounts, and support audits in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. This position works closely with the Manager, GL Accounting and other Senior/Staff Accountants to meet department timelines and goals.
    What this role involves:
  • Assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Booking monthly journal entries related to confidential or complex transactions including payroll.
  • Collaborating cross departmentally regarding global compliance, including VAT, sales tax, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Contributing to monthly analysis performed to support financial package reporting.
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes.
  • Performing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconciling ledger accounts and intercompany transactions.
  • Monitoring and implementing compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.
    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • 3-7 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and local financial regulations
  • Proficiency in large ERP systems (Great Plains, Oracle, Essbase, and Workday)
  • Strong analytical, multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Technology industry experience preferred
