Substitute Teacher (Ohana)

Job Description

Bandwidth is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher for Ohana Child Development Center, located at its Raleigh, NC headquarters. Ohana provides Montessori/RIE based programming for children of Bandwidth employees. The Substitute Teacher will step in for teachers as needed, working 10 to 30 hours per month, with potential for a full-time position.Role involves:

• Managing physical care of children using Montessori and RIE techniques.
• Adapting to changing environments and implementing feedback.
• Ensuring child safety and following classroom procedures.
• Maintaining a safe and organized classroom.
• Modeling pro-social behavior and using positive discipline.
• Forming respectful relationships with families and co-teachers.
• Communicating important information to co-teachers.
• Maintaining a professional image and upholding Ohana and Bandwidth values.
• Keeping up with required training and certifications.
• Being available on call for last-minute scheduling.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalency (GED).
• Willingness to learn Montessori/RIE practices.
• Meeting specific state standards and accreditation requirements.
• Passing a criminal background check.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• ITS-SIDS Safe Sleep Training (if working with infants).
• Recognizing and Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment training.
• TB Screening.
• Health Questionnaire.
