Job Description
Backbase is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to lead high-profile customer engagements. This role involves working closely with senior stakeholders at banks and credit unions, designing complex solutions based on Backbase's platform, and mentoring other Solutions Engineers. The Principal Solutions Engineer will be based in Amsterdam.

Role involves:
  • Leading technical solution strategy for complex customer accounts.
  • Delivering high-stakes product demos.
  • Guiding senior stakeholders on the benefits of Backbase.
  • Handling difficult objections with creativity and business acumen.
  • Mentoring Senior and Junior Solutions Engineers.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Product, and Services teams.
  • Taking ownership of complex RFPs and proposals.
  • Building long-term relationships with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback to the Product team.
  • Driving innovation within the Solutions Engineering team.
  • Staying updated on market trends and industry insights.

Requirements:
  • A can-do mentality.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise software architectures, mobile and web technologies.
  • Familiarity with Java, Spring, Angular, iOS, Android, and Kubernetes.
  • Willingness to travel around 30% of the time.
  • Understanding of modern architectural patterns such as containerization, microservices, API gateways.
  • Experience creating solutions for commercial banking.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
