Job Description
Notion is seeking a Product Counsel to join its Legal Team. This role involves working cross-functionally with multiple departments, including Engineering, Product, Business Development, AI, Design, Security, Brand and Marketing, and Customer Experience. The Product Counsel will be based in either the San Francisco or New York office and will be responsible for providing legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle.

What this role involves:
  • Serving as a point of contact for legal issues during product development.
  • Providing practical advice to engineering, product, and business development teams.
  • Building scalable processes to ensure customer trust in products.
  • Supporting product releases by addressing legal and regulatory issues.
  • Developing and delivering training on legal issues related to product development.
  • Addressing novel issues and special projects.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the California or New York bar.
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including 2+ years as a product attorney in a software technology company.
  • Experience counseling product and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Resilience and strategic thinking.
  • Interest in artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Track record of building or improving programs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
