Job Description
Tandem, a UK-based digital bank focused on green initiatives, is seeking a Team Lead - Underwriting to support the Underwriting Manager (Motor Finance) in leading and managing a growing Motor Finance Underwriting Team. This hybrid role is based in Tandem's Cardiff office. The Team Lead will focus on people management, career development, conducting 1-to-1s, ensuring the team meets SLAs, and driving overall performance.
Role Involves:
- Team performance and communication to achieve KPIs.
- Managing staff resources and assisting with recruitment.
- Assessing lending opportunities in line with company policies.
- Motivating the Lending Team and managing individual performance.
- Ensuring team SLAs are met.
- Mentoring team members.
- Maintaining knowledge of credit policies and industry sector.
Requirements:
- Experience leading a team, preferably in Financial Services.
- Experience as a Senior Underwriter in Motor Finance or Unsecured Lending.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy.
