Job Description
Science Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, test, and maintain electronics for advanced medical devices. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with experts from various fields, including biology, microfabrication, optics, and software. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of how electronics design choices impact other domains. Role responsibilities include:
  • Architecting, designing, and characterizing electrical systems for medical device applications
  • Electronic device bring-up and characterization
  • Testing and qualifying electronic hardware, especially PCB-As
  • Investigating feasibility and prototyping new concepts
  • Documenting and communicating design and test work
  • Interfacing and communicating with cross-disciplinary teams
Required qualifications include:
  • Experience in electronic system design using microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGAs
  • Proficiency in PCB design using industry-standard tools like Altium or OrCAD
  • Strong understanding of power management in battery-powered systems
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, SDIO, etc.)
  • Experience in power and size-constrained system design
  • Proficiency in low-noise analog sensor interface design
  • Adeptness in modeling signal integrity, parasitic loading, and crosstalk for sensing applications
  • Experience with wireless system design and RF-aware PCB design
  • Proficiency in using tools for electronic system characterization, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
  • Strong circuit analysis and simulation skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field
