Job Description
Science Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of medical devices and accessory tools. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and fabricating devices, robotic systems, tools, and fixtures for biology, optics, and microfabrication teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a self-starter, and comfortable with open-ended problems. Work at Science is highly collaborative and cross-functional, encompassing the range from micro to macro scales.

Role responsibilities include:
  • Designing and building micro component-based implantable systems
  • Designing and building automated biological testing equipment and platforms
  • Designing and building custom surgical equipment and micro-fabrication tools
  • Developing and executing test protocols
  • Conducting root-cause investigations and recommending corrective actions for design issues

Key qualifications include:
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2 to 6 years of professional experience in a mechanical design role
  • Understanding of fundamental mechanical principles
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and design for manufacturing (DFM)
  • Comfortable with basic machine shop and rapid prototyping tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
