Job Description
Science, a clinical-stage technology company, is seeking a Microfabrication Engineer to focus on thin film materials and fabrication processes at their Alameda, CA location. The engineer will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and testing of thin film encapsulation and electrode materials, integrating them into novel implantable devices. This includes thin film deposition characterization, developing fabrication process flows, and failure analysis. This is a hands-on position requiring device layout and fabrication ownership.Responsibilities include:
  • Developing thin film deposition processes and implementing process control.
  • Characterizing thin film materials and multilayer device stacks.
  • Designing, fabricating, and testing thin film electrodes and encapsulation schemes.
  • Integrating new materials and processes into the device fabrication flow.
  • Investigating failures in multilayer thin-film devices and determining underlying failure mechanisms.
Key requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes (wet/dry etch, thin film deposition, lithography, mask design).
  • Hands-on experience with metrology (SEM, optical microscopy, profilometry, ellipsometry).
  • Experience designing and fabricating thin film devices.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
