Software Engineer-Backend (Symphony)

Job Description

PhonePe is seeking a Software Engineer - Backend (Symphony) to join their team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience and a strong background in software development, particularly in building scalable web-based applications. This role involves working on complex business flows and dealing with large amounts of data, contributing to a company that impacts millions of users.

Responsibilities:

• Build robust and scalable web-based applications.
• Develop platforms and reuse components.
• Create abstractions and contracts with separation of concerns.
• Drive problem-solving for high-level business and technical problems.
• Design and implement functional models.
• Make incremental changes to architecture and analyze their impact.
• Perform performance tuning and improvements in large-scale distributed systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team spirit.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to derive capability views from features/solutions.
• Lead the execution of medium-sized projects.
• Work with stakeholders to track project impact and iterate for improvements.

Requirements:

• Extensive programming experience in Java, C, C++, or similar.
• Experience with multi-threading and concurrency programming.
• Strong object-oriented design skills and knowledge of design patterns.
• Excellent coding skills and ability to convert designs into code fluently.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development.
• Good understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., HBase, Elasticsearch, Aerospike).
• Experience with full life cycle development on a Linux platform.
• BTech, MTech, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
