Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join their Advanced Powertrain Technology team. This role focuses on modeling, characterization, and analysis of drive unit attributes, features, and sub-systems. The Systems Modeling Engineer will build and utilize multi-domain models of the drive unit system to predict, simulate, and evaluate how it performs its functions.
Role Involves:
- Modeling, characterization, and analysis of drive unit attributes, features, and sub-systems.
- Driving hardware and software, product and requirements definition across different systems.
- Developing tools and models to perform functional analysis, detail trade studies and interface definition studies.
- Analyzing field usage, test, and simulation data to identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Supporting creation and execution of validation and characterization test campaigns.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams for vehicle optimization efforts.
- Developing broad systems engineering expertise and deep product knowledge.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of fundamental physics in power electronics, electromagnetics, motor controls, heat transfer, or fluid mechanics.
- Understanding of how drive unit design choices impact vehicle attributes.
- Capability to analyze data and generate insights.
- Experience or knowledge of system/component modeling.
- Expert in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 1-3 years of experience with powertrain product development, powertrain controls, testing in automotive, aviation, aerospace, or similar industry.
