Senior Android Engineer at Backbase

Backbase is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their Wealth Engineering team in Madrid. This role involves designing, developing, and shaping Android investing products that will impact over 100 million users globally. The engineer will contribute to the development, scaling, and deployment of cutting-edge software solutions for financial institutions worldwide.

Role involves:

• Building new features and improving existing features in wealth mobile banking products.
• Achieving high standards through non-functional testing.
• Owning a set of mobile banking components.
• Collaborating with the Application Security team.
• Participating in agile and scrum ceremonies.
• Growing knowledge within the mobile guild.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in Android development.
• Experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Deep understanding of MVVM and design patterns.
• Experience with Jetpack, Retrofit/OkHttp, Coroutines, Flow, and Channels.
• Knowledge of Dependency injection.
• Experience writing unit tests with JUnit.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and core concepts of Data Structures, Algorithms, and System Design.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Android Studio and Git.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
