Job Description

Life Skills Autism Academy, a division of Centria Autism, is seeking a Center-Based Behavior Technician in Allen, Texas. The academy specializes in providing services to young children, offering early, high-intensive ABA Therapy. The Behavior Technician will work full-time, Monday-Friday, providing direct client care in 1:1 and group settings.

The Behavior Technician will follow prescribed protocols, collect data, assist with parent training, and maintain a safe environment. They will also communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC.

Centria Autism offers a compensation range of $17-$18 per hour, with increases based on education and experience. Benefits include paid time off, a comprehensive benefits plan, tuition discount program, practicum program, and early wage access.

Role Involves:

  • Providing direct client care in 1:1 and group settings
  • Following behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Collecting, recording, and summarizing data on client behavior
  • Assisting with parent and caregiver training
  • Ensuring timely documentation
  • Communicating client progress to parents and caregivers
  • Maintaining a clean and safe therapy environment
  • Assisting in the preparation of client materials

Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for their RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment
  • Must be willing to participate in the company’s background check process
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Willing to obtain a tuberculosis (TB) test annually
  • Must be able to physically perform this job, including getting down on the floor and standing up many times, lifting up to 50lbs, and the ability to run/move quickly if required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Strong understanding of technology for data recording
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong cultural competency
