Sales Director (East/South Africa) at Backbase

Backbase is seeking a Sales Director to join their team, focusing on the East/South Africa region. The ideal candidate will be based in either Kenya or South Africa and will be responsible for driving digital banking transformation opportunities with new customers. This role requires a strategic and ambitious sales executive who can excel in a client-facing advisory position.

The Sales Director will manage and close large software agreements, forecast and manage new opportunities, and establish a trusted advisor role with banking and financial institution customers. He will report directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales.

Role Involves:

• Identifying and closing opportunities for Backbase business.
• Managing and closing large software agreements ($1M+ ARR).
• Forecasting and managing net-new opportunities.
• Leading customers to value-focused digital banking strategies.
• Establishing a trusted advisor position with banking and financial institution customers.
• Aggregating customer requirements and crafting business cases for investments.
• Supporting Backbase's goal of building digital banking leadership.

Requirements:

• Solid track-record and network with Banks in East & South Africa region
• 8-10+ years experience in a quota carrying role.
• Track record of exceeding quota.
• 5+ years experience in digital banking.
• Ability to reverse engineer business objectives.
• Eagerness to solve tough problems for customers.
