Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Description

Chatham Financial is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Data Platform and Reporting squad. The Business Intelligence Engineer will report to the Engineering Lead and will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, high-performance data models and BI solutions that support analytical and reporting needs across Chatham’s Enterprise Data Platform. The role involves data modeling, Power BI development, and performance optimization.

• Designing and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Creating and maintaining star and snowflake schema-based semantic models.
• Developing and managing Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards.
• Onboarding client reports and debugging time-sensitive issues.
• Working with data engineers to define ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Ensuring data integrity, governance, and security within BI solutions.
• Optimizing SQL queries and data models for performance and scalability.
• Collaborating with product managers and business stakeholders.
• Documenting data definitions, data lineage, and modelling standards.

• 2-5 years of experience in data modelling, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Power BI, including dataset development, DAX, and report creation.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and experience designing star schema and snowflake schema.
• Experience working with SQL databases and writing efficient queries.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
