Job Description
Chatham Financial is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Data Platform and Reporting squad. This role involves designing and developing scalable data models and BI solutions to support analytical and reporting needs across Chatham’s Enterprise Data Platform. The Business Intelligence Engineer will collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to implement data pipelines, semantic models, and visualizations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Create and maintain star and snowflake schema-based semantic models.
- Develop and manage Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards.
- Onboard client reports and debug time-sensitive issues.
- Work with data engineers to define ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, governance, and security within BI solutions.
- Optimize SQL queries and data models for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs.
- Document data definitions, data lineage, and modelling standards.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in data modelling, business intelligence, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Power BI, including dataset development, DAX, and report creation.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and experience designing star schema and snowflake schema.
- Experience working with SQL databases and writing efficient queries.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
