Data Scientist (AdTech)

Job Description

Nexxen is seeking a self-directed and analytical Senior Data Scientist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience and will work on the core optimization and bidding logic of the Nexxen Demand-Side Platform (DSP). This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule, requiring three days a week in the office.This role involves:

• Designing, implementing, and evaluating machine learning models for bidding, pacing, and KPI prediction.
• Analyzing large-scale behavioral and performance data using Spark, SQL, and Python.
• Navigating and improving existing systems within complex, legacy codebases.
• Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to define problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Writing clear technical documentation and communicating insights effectively.

Requirements include:

• A Master's degree in a quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience in a data science or applied machine learning role.
• Proficiency with applied machine learning techniques, especially tree-based models like XGBoost.
• Comfort navigating large, complex legacy codebases.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Scala/Apache Spark for distributed data processing and machine learning at scale.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
