Software Engineer

Job Description

Science, a clinical-stage technology company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Alameda, CA. The Software Engineer will be responsible for building out Science's software platform, which touches every part of the company. This role involves close collaboration with scientists and engineers from various teams, including microfabrication, biology, and surgery.

The Software Engineer will contribute to tools used daily by different teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as your own product manager
• Tracking down the next project that will be most immediately useful for the least coding effort
• Addressing mounting technical debt when appropriate
• Quickly shipping with little oversight in a chaotic startup environment

Requirements:

• 2+ years as a web software engineer, including significant depth in both frontend and backend engineering
• Ability to act as your own product manager
• A strong sense of when it's appropriate to address mounting technical debt
• Demonstrated ability to quickly ship with little oversight in a chaotic startup environment
