Job Description

Science Corporation is seeking an experienced Web Engineer to join their team in Alameda, CA. This role involves building a software platform that will touch every part of the company, from collecting neural data to tracking devices through assembly to streamlining purchasing. The Web Engineer will collaborate closely with a world-class team of scientists and engineers, including those in microfabrication, biology, animal behavior, surgery, and ops teams, to build tools that they will use every day. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and strong technical and product judgment.Role involves:

• Building a software platform for various company departments.
• Collaborating with scientists and engineers.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a web software engineer.
• Significant depth in either backend or fullstack development.
• Deep understanding of modern web applications design architecture.
• Knowledge of good API design patterns and performance.
• Adaptability and proactivity in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Ability to act as your own product manager.
• Understanding of core requirements for effective solutions.
• A strong sense of when to address technical debt and when to build new features.
