Backbase is seeking a skilled Senior Performance Engineer to join its Expert Services Team in Krakow. The candidate will drive the performance engineering practice, ensuring optimal systems performance for customers and development teams. They will design and execute performance tests, analyze data to identify performance issues and trends, recommend improvements, and collaborate with developers and stakeholders.The Senior Performance Engineer will be the go-to person for all performance-related topics in Backbase Engagement Banking Platform implementations. They will work alongside Solution Architects and multidisciplinary implementation teams to gather requirements, design, and implement modern solutions. The role involves leading performance workshop sessions and providing guidance to both customers and internal teams. The Senior Performance Engineer will also proactively research and implement innovative performance solutions, validating them through PoCs and sharing findings to drive continuous improvement.Responsibilities:
  • Define SMART KPIs for performance-based NFRs.
  • Design and create performance test scenarios, test data, automated test suites, and testing environments.
  • Establish best-in-class performance engineering approaches for software development teams.
  • Influence customers and Backbase development teams to adopt recommendations.
  • Provide structural recommendations to prevent recurrence of performance issues.
  • Keep up to date with performance engineering tooling.
  • Contribute to the performance engineering discipline.
  • Support and guide the resolution of performance-related customer escalations.
  • Implement performance testing strategy and tooling.
  • Drive and support customers with performance testing before go-live.
Requirements:
  • Experience in performance testing and engineering.
  • Experience with performance tools like Gatling, JMeter, Grafana K6.
  • Experience with Spring framework and tuning JVM.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure is a plus).
  • Experience with relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Software development experience with Java (preferred).
  • Openness to travel.
