Staff Engineer

commercetools is seeking a Staff Engineer for its Connect team. This role involves working on challenging technical problems related to an ambitious product. The Connect team is focused on building an advanced and comprehensive solution that includes a marketplace with curated, pre-built, ct-certified Integrations and a run-time environment managed by commercetools.

The Staff Engineer will collaborate with the engineering team to build a robust and scalable solution, understand customer challenges, and drive the technical vision for Connect's services.

Role Involves:

• Optimizing Connect services for throughput and scalability.
• Collaborating with the engineering team to build a scalable solution.
• Suggesting innovative solutions for technical problems.
• Driving the technical vision for Connect’s services.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Javascript, TypeScript for enterprise applications.
• Experience with microservices-based architectures in a leadership role.
• Experience with Kubernetes and GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions from the ground up using Terraform.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and drive improvements.
• Experience working in an Agile environment for a geographically distributed team.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English.
