Application Security Engineer

Job Description

Aztec Labs is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to enhance the security of its codebase. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing Aztec's extensive codebase, which includes Greenhouse, Barretenberg, Noir, node software, and the Private Execution Environment. This role involves identifying security issues, developing tools for bug detection, and supporting internal teams and external contractors during security audits.Responsibilities include:

• Conducting security assessments of applications and infrastructure.
• Developing and implementing security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Collaborating with development teams to integrate security best practices.
• Assisting in the design and implementation of secure coding standards.
• Leading and participating in internal and external security audits.
• Staying updated on the latest security threats and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application security.
• Proficiency in low-level programming languages such as Rust or C++.
• Strong understanding of applied cryptography and discrete mathematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with compiler development and web security is a plus.
• Participation in CTF competitions in a cryptography role is advantageous.
