VP of R&D Operations & Chief of Staff to the CTO

Job Description

OneTrust is seeking a Vice President of R&D Operations & Chief of Staff to the CTO. This role involves leading and scaling operational excellence across the Product and Engineering organization. The VP will report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for driving clarity, alignment, and execution across R&D and partner organizations. They will lead a small team and influence a broader group across Engineering, Product, and Go-to-Market teams.Responsibilities:

• Driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the SDLC.
• Building and evolving an operating model for autonomous squads.
• Developing and implementing a unified strategy and prioritization framework.
• Building partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other functions.
• Providing data-driven insights to executive leadership and the board.
• Managing budgets, optimizing engineering spend, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Driving the creation, alignment, and accountability of Engineering OKRs.
• Leading cross-functional initiatives across Software Development, QA, Architecture, and Operations.
• Standardizing and leading escalation processes.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of leadership experience in product and engineering operations, program management, or related roles.
• 7+ years in a SaaS environment with deep understanding of modern SDLC and product development practices.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and resource planning.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing at the executive level.
• Experience driving change and transformation in high-growth or scaling environments.
