Clinical Data Specialist

Job Description

Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) is seeking a Clinical Data Specialist to support customer data cleansing engagements. The Clinical Data Specialist will primarily support data quality initiatives to drive accuracy, consistency, and completeness of enriched data through management and maintenance of provider item master information as it relates to medical-surgical devices and supplies. This role involves managing and maintaining a database based on defined standards, validating and maintaining transactional data elements, and working with team members, providers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of accurate data.

• Manages and maintains database based on defined standards
• Validates and maintains transactional data elements
• Works with team members, providers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of accurate data
• Performs ad hoc queries on large data sets to identify data issues
• Contributes to the development of standards, processes, and procedures

Requirements for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a healthcare-related discipline
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Data Quality Assurance, Data Management, Healthcare purchasing or related field
• Strong understanding of medical product functionality and terminology
• Experience obtaining, reviewing, and collating information from a variety of sources
• High degree of proficiency in MS Excel required
