Job Description

Volley is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, UI to contribute to the development of AI and voice-powered games. This role involves shaping how millions of users interact with Volley's games across various platforms. The Staff Engineer will focus on building seamless, responsive experiences for smart TVs, set-top boxes, and gaming consoles.Volley is looking for someone to:

• Design and implement cross-platform front-end systems.
• Build immersive web frameworks using React, WebGPU/WebGL.
• Define and evolve the design system and component libraries.
• Mentor and guide engineers in front-end architecture.
• Collaborate with AI and platform engineers.
• Drive tooling, testing frameworks, and observability efforts.
• Represent the front-end discipline in company-wide planning.

The ideal candidate should have:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on front-end/UI development.
• Experience building and shipping performant, scalable UIs using HTML5, React, WebGL/WebGPU.
• Experience with optimization techniques for rendering performance on constrained devices.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with design, product, and platform teams.
• A passion for observability, testability, and maintainability of front-end codebases.
• Strong mentoring abilities.
