Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

SpotOn is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join their Business Owner group, focused on building restaurant reporting systems. The Engineering Manager will lead teams to optimal output, cultivate a strong team culture, and ensure the growth of each team member. This role involves providing oversight and leadership on technical direction, collaborating with others, and influencing leadership decisions.

The Engineering Manager will help teams deliver systems critical to restaurant operations, including payment transitions and order fulfillment. They will maintain a rapid release cadence, build trust with team members, and drive the adoption of new technologies.

Responsibilities include:

• Keeping teams focused and engaged on the mission
• Maintaining a rapid release cadence and informative product backlog
• Building trust with individual contributors
• Working with leaders across Product, Engineering, and Operations
• Driving adoption of new technologies and processes
• Identifying blind spots and prioritizing work across teams
• Working with international teams
• Owning the overall architecture and systems engineering for products

Requirements include:

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Experience recruiting and building software engineering teams
• Ability to inspire and motivate team members
• Strong technical background in software engineering and architecture
• Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience managing software teams
