Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Flight Test Instrumentation Mechanical Design Lead to support the design, fabrication, developmental test, and certification efforts of its piloted eVTOL aircraft project. This role is based in San Jose, California.

The Mechanical Design Lead will be responsible for the mechanical installation design for all Flight Test Instrumentation related hardware for flight test aircraft. He will work with internal customers and vendors to solve instrumentation and measurement related challenges. He will also develop processes and documentation to support the installation and maintenance of flight test instrumentation.

What this role involves:
  • Performing the Mechanical Installation Design for all Flight Test Instrumentation related hardware.
  • Supporting the Installation planning and liaison manufacturing for the installation of flight test instrumentation onto test aircraft.
  • Working with internal customers and vendors to solve instrumentation and measurement related challenges.
  • Developing processes and documentation to support the installation and maintenance of flight test instrumentation.
  • Collaborating with the Flight Test Engineering and Certification Teams to plan and perform all required development and certification flight test activities.
  • Assisting in designing all hardware required for flight test.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 7+ years experience as Mechanical Design Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer
  • Experience with design and installation of hardware for flight
  • Experience with the routing of wires/harnesses for aircraft
  • Experience generating work instructions
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs unassisted

What Archer offers:
  • A base pay between $186,240 - $232,800.
