Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Flight Test Instrumentation Operations Engineer to support the developmental test and certification efforts of its piloted eVTOL aircraft project. This role involves maintaining the data acquisition system, instrumentation configuration, and instrumentation health for flight test aircraft. The engineer will collaborate with internal customers and vendors to address instrumentation and measurement challenges, perform post-flight data processing, and advise the Instrumentation Director on aircraft readiness. They will also develop processes and documentation for the checkout, calibration, and maintenance of flight test instrumentation, and collaborate with Flight Test Engineering and Certification Teams to plan flight test activities.Archer is dedicated to sustainable air mobility and fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
  • Solve instrumentation and measurement challenges.
  • Perform post-flight data processing.
  • Develop processes and documentation for instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on instrumentation plans.
  • Assist in designing instrumentation wiring and hardware.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience as an instrumentation engineer.
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and telemetry operations.
  • Experience with instrumentation systems design and implementation.
  • Experience with FTI systems and sensor maintenance.
  • Experience creating procedures and reports for hardware checkouts.
  • Flight test configuration management process experience.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and lift 30 lbs unassisted.
