Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Senior Analyst, Growth Analytics, Retention to join their Data and Insights Group (DIG). This role supports the Algorithmic Targeting (ALTA) team's retention and revenue pod, focusing on machine learning models. The Senior Analyst will report to the Executive Director of Growth Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Write SQL to pipeline and analyze big data
- Develop dashboards to expand access to data and analytics
- Perform data-oriented analyses and present insights to guide team strategy
- Run A/B Tests and provide scope and analysis
- Investigate and visualize relationships between models' outputs and user segments
- Support journalistic independence and commitment to the mission
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics or data science
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
- 3+ years of experience in cross-functional communication
- Experience in Python or R
- 1+ years of experience with data visualization tools
- Familiarity with Google BigQuery, AWS, DBT, or other big data environments (Preferred)
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques (Preferred)
- 1+ years of experience applying statistics to strategic problems (Preferred)
- 1+ years of experience with A/B testing (Preferred)
The New York Times offers:
- Annual base pay range: $101,000 - $110,000 USD
